5. Clapton in Gordano
The village of Clapton in Gordano is located in Somerset. It is administered from North Somerset. Clapton in Gordano is on the southern side of the Gordano Valley, next to the M5 motorway. Less than 400 people live here and yet there is a village football club known as Clapton in Gordano FC. Like so many old villages in England the name Gordano also comes from old English which provides a description of the triangular shape of the whole valley as it stretches from Portishead to Clevedon.
